Discover the beauty of Brownsea Island
Only one and a quarter miles from Poole Quay you will discover the peace, tranquillity and unique atmosphere, worlds apart from the bustle of Poole Quay. Browsea Island is a beautiful 500 acre island of heath and woodland.
Brownsea Island is one and a half miles long and three quarter miles wide. It only takes approximately 20 minutes by ferry to visit the Island from Poole Quay.

Every Tuesday evening evening from April to September see the "Bikers" along Poole Quay and view some wonderful bikes! Every type of Dream Machine gather from April to September from 6.00pm (well worth viewing!) It's bike of the night every week - Bike of the year is held at the end of September.

"THURSDAY NIGHT PARTY"
A carnival atmosphere with a "Fireworks" finale will happen Thursdays from 31st May and throughout June & July.
There will be live music and street entertainment starting from 7pm - The Fireworks usually happen just before 10.00pm.
Try The Custom House on the Quay for a great party atmosphere! - A good place to see the Fireworks!
"BBQ ON THE BEACH"
Sands on the Beach - Is where Live music and a Caribbean style barbecue, beach sports and children's activities can be found at Sandbanks Beach, also with a fireworks finale. (Thursdays during August)

"French Street Market" along Poole Quay on Saturday & Sunday usually in xSeptember. French goodies like garlic, onions, cheese, bread, and all sorts of French gifts are on sale. French music, crepe suzettes and a nice atmosphere can be found.

"THE GREAT DORSET STEAM FAIR"
"The Great Dorset Steam Fair " The largest of it's kind, held every year, starting at the end of August to the beginning of September - 2 miles east of Blandford Forum - less than an hours drive from Poole Quay, a Fair not to be missed. The Steam Fair is regularly attended by 200,000 visitors from all over the world. It is held on a mammoth 500 acre site at Tarrant Hinton.
2008 sees the 40th Great Dorset Steam Fair
